Cathie was originally diagnosed with Breast Cancer in April 2011, which sadly spread to other parts of her body 18 months later.
During her illness Cathie became a paddler with Pendragons. She loved the exercise and the team camaraderie through this developed further friendships.
Throughout her illness Cathie never complained, was very determined and positive, always full of hope with her radiating smile and laugh. At all times she remained strong and resolute in the face of this terrible disease.
During her life Cathie was able to visit 25 countries and for periods of time lived in 3 of them. Cathie had a great love of travel and adventure with her loving family. Cathie was immensely proud of her two children, Madeleine and Ryan.
Her husband Andrew never faltered in his support for his wife and whatever made Cathie happy he did. Cathie’s children, parents and friends all provided further support and affection.
Cathie sadly passed away with no pain, at the Nepean Hospital on the 30th June, 2013. At her funeral her family celebrated her life, particularly her many adventures, family and jollity which were all near and dear to her. At her passing she received many condolences from both in Australia and Overseas with over 120 people attending her funeral, a real testament to how popular she was.
