Registration is now CLOSED

Register is now closed to attend the DAA Convention in Melbourne.  A wonderful opportunity for DAA members from around the country to meet up, share ideas, network, be inspired, learn, paddle and have a huge amount of fun together.

The program will be finalised soon and we can assure you it will be a fabulous and worthwhile event and will ensure DAA continues to develop and thrive into the future.

We invite all members old and new to register to enjoy the sisterhood of DAA, including a minimum of 2 representatives from every DA Group, possibly committee members, to ensure all voices are heard.   Groups can fundraise to assist members to attend.

Registration

Early Bird Registration $210  (closing 15 March  2017)

Full Registration  $225 (16 March – 16 April)

Dinner Only Registration $90 (as available).

Venue

Melbourne Parkview Hotel
562 St Kilda Road, Melbourne, VIC 3004
The hotel is near Albert Park ( tram stop number 25). Set along a tree-lined boulevard and overlooking Albert Park and Melbourne city skyline, 2.9 km from the National Gallery of Victoria and 3.6 km from St Kilda Beach.


Program Outline 

Following is an outline to help you plan.  Please see the full program for more detailed information.

Friday  28 April

6:00pm – 7:00pm  Pre Convention Drinks with the Board and registration (optional)

Saturday  29 April  9:00am – 5:00pm Convention (Registration from 8:00am)

Some highlights :

  • Early morning walk and opportunities for breakfast with the Board
  • ‘Listening to You’, a facilitated session for groups to share information and ideas about what works for you
  • Address by the Director of Wellbeing at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre
  • Workshops on Fundraising, "Coaching Your DA Group", "Fuelling the Dragon" and "Me 2.0 - putting yourself back together to move forward"
  • Warm ups

6.45pm Pre-dinner drinks

7.30pm till late: Dinner with a surprise guest speaker 

Sunday 30 April

Heritage Paddle on the Yarra River followed by Flowers on the Water and a picnic lunch with other highlights, finishing approximately 2:00pm .  Groups will be invited to tell a 3-5 minute story about their group’s heritage which will be recorded and shared on social media. 

Your registration fee includes the Convention and lunch and dinner on Saturday as well as the heritage paddle and lunch on Sunday.


Accommodation

We recommend you stay at the Parkview Hotel, which is the venue for the convention and dinner.  They are offering us a very reasonable special rate of $155 for upgraded single or twin share rooms, and also have 4 bed family rooms (sleep 4) available at $400 a night  

Book by phone or email, mentioning you are with the DAA Convention to get the special rate.  The hotel will ask for a credit card to guarantee the booking and first nights accommodation will be charged one week before arrival  - with the balance to be paid at checkout.   

Breakfast is available at the discounted rate of $15.
