Dragons abreast Adelaide is a dragon boat team formed in November 2003. We are made up of breast cancer survivors and supporters. You will be surprised by the instant connection you feel with our team and realise you are not alone on this journey.
Dragon boating unites you with the environment, encourages team spirit, builds fitness, promotes health and is fun too. With each stroke in our dragon boat we demonstrate our commitment and passion for our sport and set an example to all breast cancer survivors that they can live a full active life after and during treatment.
As much as we all love to socialise and have fun we also compete in regular competitions.
We are the only Adelaide breast cancer survivor team which is a member of the nationwide organisation Dragons Abreast Australia. This means we can (and do) participate in interstate and overseas breast cancer survivor competitions.
We welcome all new potential members irrespective of age, fitness level or stage of diagnosis treatment and those who have not had breast cancer.
To encourage new members to come and try dragon boating the first 4 sessions are free to enable you to decide if dragon boating is for you.
If you are already a member of Dragons Abreast Australia and are visiting Adelaide feel free to join us for a training session.
We meet at the Aquatic Reserve on the right hand side (western) car park – just look for lots of pink!
