Maggie Sharp Canberra
About Maggie Sharp
Our lovely Maggie Sharp, DA ACT Tickled Pink sweep and paddler, passed away very peacefully at her home with her loving and caring family at her side on 14 July.
Maggie loved the lake and being on the water. Her DA family was very special to her and she to us. That morning, our paddling team saw some amazing sights as we shared the beauty of our lake and surrounding foreshores.
A tree suddenly decided to drop hundreds of leaves — it was like standing in a snow shower of leaves swaying as they fell. We saw the beautiful filigree shapes of bare winter trees through the misty layers of fog while the Carillon was chiming. We stopped and sent rainbow messages to Maggie.
Over these last weeks, Maggie’s thoughts of the lake made her smile as she imagined being on the dragon boat and remembered the many happy hours she had spent on the water.
In honour of Maggie, Dragons Abreast Canberra annual corporate regatta awards a perpetual shield to the fastest female team.
