“Just prior to the weekend races in Melbourne we received the sad news that Marg McAlphine from Bendigo had joined Angels Abreast. Marg was remembered in the Flowers on the Water ceremony on Sunday. Our thoughts go to Margi’s family and her husband David.” – Michelle Hanton

Treasured memories of Marg –

Our much loved drummer and fellow paddler. Dragons Abreast Bendigo has been truly enriched having Marg in our team. Her gentle spirit will continue with us each time we paddle. Our beautiful, gentle, talented Marg, who gave DAB our touch of class.

She was such a pleasure to know with her love of fine food, wine, clothes, music, theatre and travel – and of course dragon boating. No plastic cups for Marg at the camping ground cabins for regattas – a fine glass and a good red always.

A truly wonderful lady – in every sense of the word.
