World Masters Games Japan – May 2027

In May 2027, Dragons Abreast Australia will step onto the world stage at the World Masters Games in Japan — an event that celebrates not just sport, but spirit, perseverance and the power of community.

From 28–30 May 2027, our paddlers will line up against competitors from across the globe, united by experience, determination and a shared love of sport. For DAA, this is so much more than racing. It is about strength rediscovered. Confidence rebuilt. Friendships forged through early mornings, tough sessions, laughter on the water, and unwavering support.

We are incredibly proud to be sending two Standard Women’s crews in the 50+ and 60+ categories — women who continue to show that resilience has no age limit and courage has no expiry date. Every stroke taken in Japan will carry the stories, journeys and heart of our wider DAA community back home.

This is about wearing the pink with pride.
About standing tall in an international arena.
About proving — yet again — that life after breast cancer can be bold, powerful and full of adventure.

Japan 2027 will be emotional, exhilarating and unforgettable. And when our crews take the start line from 28–30 May, they won’t just be racing — they’ll be representing every woman who has found strength through dragon boating.
