Community Club Paddlers
State: ACT, NSW, QLD, SA, TAS, VIC, and WA
Welcome to Our Community
Not everyone lives close to a Dragons Abreast Australia Member Group — and that’s absolutely okay. Many of our Breast Cancer Survivor (BCS) paddlers choose to paddle with their local community dragon boat clubs while still being part of the wider DAA family.
If you already belong to a local dragon boat club, or if the nearest DAA group is too far away, you can still join Dragons Abreast Australia as an individual member and remain connected to our national network of survivors and supporters. This allows you to continue paddling with your local club while also participating in DAA events, festivals, training opportunities and special projects when they arise.
Across Australia, community dragon boat clubs provide welcoming environments where paddlers of all backgrounds train together, support one another and share a love of being on the water. Many of our members enjoy the best of both worlds — staying active with their local club while also being part of the unique camaraderie and support that comes with the Dragons Abreast Australia community.
Whether you paddle with a DAA Member Group or with a local community club, you are still part of the same powerful movement — demonstrating that life after breast cancer can be strong, active and full of connection.
