VIC Community Paddlers

State: VIC

Welcome to Our Community

Our Victorian Community Paddlers are a beautifully connected group who paddle locally across Paynesville, Newlands Arm, Sale, Warrnambool and Port Campbell, all while remaining part of the wider Dragons Abreast Australia family.

In the Gippsland region — including Paynesville, Newlands Arm and Sale — our members are fortunate to paddle on the stunning Gippsland Lakes, where the calm waterways and strong local club spirit provide the perfect environment for rebuilding strength, confidence and wellbeing. These sessions are filled with encouragement, laughter and steady progress, with paddlers supporting one another both on and off the water.

Along the South West Coast, in Warrnambool and Port Campbell, our community paddlers embrace the fresh coastal air and vibrant local dragon boat culture. Paddling in these regions reflects resilience and determination, with members staying active, connected and inspired through regular training with their local clubs.

By paddling with their community clubs close to home, our Victorian members continue their recovery and fitness journeys in a supportive, welcoming environment — while still proudly belonging to the national DAA network. No matter the postcode, they paddle as part of something bigger: a community of survivors and supporters who encourage each other, celebrate every milestone, and show that life after breast cancer is strong, active and full of possibility.
