From Redlands to Dubai – A DAA Paddling Adventure! Posted on: 16 February 2026

One of the beautiful things about being part of the Dragons Abreast Australia family is that paddling opportunities can take you anywhere in the world — and recently, one of our Individual Members from Redlands Sea Dragons experienced exactly that!

While visiting Dubai, Ve was fortunate to jump in the boat and paddle with the wonderful Barracuda Dragon Boat Club. From the warm welcome on the dock to the shared rhythm on the water, it was a reminder that dragon boating truly is a global community.

Despite being thousands of kilometres from home, the feeling was instantly familiar — teamwork, laughter, determination and that special connection that comes from paddling side by side. 💕🐉

As an Individual Member connected through her local community club, Ve proudly carried the spirit of Dragons Abreast Australia onto international waters, showing that our DAA family stretches far beyond Australia.

We love seeing our members embracing opportunities, building friendships across clubs and countries, and continuing to paddle wherever life takes them.
