The Janelles Have it at DA Brisbane! Posted on: 10 December 2019

Dragons Abreast Brisbane recognised the outstanding contribution of Janelle Gamble to both their group and to BCS paddling in Australia and across the globe by presenting her with the very first DAB life membership. Janelle’s  contribution has been so significant that we all BCS paddlers in Australia walk in the foot prints or ripples that she forged for us. The life membership acknowledged Janelle’s vision, determination and spirit. “From little things big things grow”.

At the DA Brisbane’s MBT Annual Awards Luncheon awards were presented to “Rookie of the Year” – Janelle Osborn, “Paddler of the Year”- Jenny Seddon, “Presidents Award” – Janelle Pritchard, “Pink Connections Award” Rick and Helen Lambe and of course the very special “Spirit of the Dragon Award” to the very wonderful Helen Underwood.

There were also some equally deserved “special” awards. Thanks were also expressed to outgoing committee members, the policy sub committee and of course  coach Di Cy. In addition Warren Walmsley was fully inducted as an MBT coach and now has the costume to prove it. Special thanks also to DA Brisbane President Sharon Hammond and Coordinator Sue Von Richter and to all the quiet achievers behind the scenes that help to make it all happen.
