Merri O’Donoghue Gold Coast

Merri ( fondly known as “HOLLY” ) was one of our newer members who was thrilled to meet and join up with her fellow BC survivor sisters, she was an asset to our club.

Merri considered the “pinkies” as her extended family, knowing she was loved by all. Merri was such a delight to have within our group, very caring, always there to offer support to others. She was an avid paddler who was determined to keep paddling right up until the end. Merri enjoyed the friendly rivalry between sister clubs on regatta days and her proudest moment was when she accepted the trophy that her team won in Mt Warning’s regatta at Murwillumbah, she was so proud and happy to have been a part of that team.

Sadly Merri lost her battle with BC in 2010. Merri is sadly missed by her fellow paddlers at DAGC.
