About Robin Sammel

Dear Robin, “Narnie” to all of her “pinkie” paddling sisters. Narnie was a special lady who had a very soft reasuring nature. Always quietly there in the background with a soft word, a hug or a shoulder to lean on when needed.

Narnie suffered from breast cancer as well as ovarian cancer, never complaining, always full of hope and love. Narnie’s faith gave her strength and courage that enabled her to live and enjoy her life to the fullest.

Narnie loved nothing better than to get into the boat on a Sunday and enjoy each moment spent on the beautiful Currumbin Creek, a very special place!

Narnie once said “I always thought that angels wore white and came with wings, but I now know that they come wearing bright pink, beating drums and paddling dragon boats.”

We were her angels who helped her through the tough times, she is now our beloved angel who watches over us from above. Narnie, you are so sadly missed by your “pinkies” and support paddlers.
