Dragons Abreast Bendigo was established in 2002 by local breast cancer survivors and supporters. A preloved boat was kindly donated to us and after a refurbishment, training started on Lake Weeroona in November. Dragons Abreast Canberra was the second DAA team in Australia, commencing paddling in 1999. We formed our group in 2004 and are based at the Mersey Yacht Club in East Devonport, where we store our 20 seater and 10 seater boats. In our Dragons Den at the same location we store paddles, life jackets, safety gear, marquees etc. Our boats, Mersey Maiden and Mersey Maiden Too, are regular sights on the Mersey River.
