Fay Johnson Hobart

Fay was one of our first members when she joined Dragons Abreast Hobart in 2004 perfecting her technique by sitting on a chair upstairs in the LRC club rooms and was present when our first dragon boat ‘Boobialla’ had its eyes dotted, beginning began its life on the waters of Lindisfarne Bay. Over the years Fay became integral to Dragons Abreast Hobart and always set a fine example with her can-do attitude. Some of her international regattas included the one of the first international Breast Cancer Regatta at Vancouver (Canada), Caloundra, Peterborough (Canada), and her last trip in Florence (Italy) in 2018.

We celebrated the life of Fay on the 12th August 2023 with Flowers on the Water held in the bay, her home of dragon boating in Tasmania. She will always be remembered.
