Margaret Joannou Coffs Coast

Margaret Joannou was a founding member of Dragons Abreast Coffs Coast and previous Coordinator.

Margaret was a warm and loving person and a great listener and was an inspiration to all who knew her. Margaret was a firm believer of “not sweating the small stuff” and very rarely complained about anything.

Margaret always stepped up to help with raffles and fundraising and opened her home to the masses for cocktail & movie nights. She had a flair for fashion & furnishings and always looked beautiful in whatever she wore.

Despite being unwell Margaret attended the Inaugural Corporate & Community Regatta in Darling Harbour last October and spent most of the day on the Dragons Abreast merchandise stall.

She was a wonderful wife to Alex and mother to their 3 children Alison, Sophie & Peter. Her love for her grandchildren Harrison, Harvey, Eva and Chester was simply beautiful.

Margaret lost her long and courageous battle with breast cancer on Friday, 26 February 2010, peacefully at home with her family around her. Margaret was only 51 years. She will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
