Pat Pierce Coffs Coast

Patricia Pierce – Miss Pat, as she was affectionately known was a valued member of Dragons Abreast Coffs Coast.

Pat was grounded, normal, honest, determined and hard working. She lived a simple life, full of love. For her life was not about material things but about who we have around us and how they make us feel.

In June, 2008, Pat competed in the Port Macquarie regatta, the day after she completed radiation treatment to her brain. One week after the Port Macquarie Regatta, Pat competed in a 21 km dragon boat marathon from Chinderah to Murwillumbah on the Tweed River and paddled almost the whole way – almost 3 hours of paddling. She raised over $200 in sponsorship for her paddling efforts!

Despite Pat’s illness, pain and discomfort – she rarely complained and she remained positive and “full of cheek” till the end. Pat leaves behind her beloved partner Greg and her two children Trent and Rachel.
