Joining Dragons Abreast gave me a team – it’s been a lot of years since I was involved in a team sport, and nothing epitomises ‘team’ like dragon boating. You can’t move forward if you don’t work together, you can’t improve without mutual support, everyone is equal, and anyone who has been through the grind of breast cancer treatment has the tenacity you need to race and train – always with a determined smile.
