About Sharon Cooper
Sharon discovered dragon boating in 2011, after being diagnosed at the age of 39. She has managed crews for local, interstate and international regattas, is an accredited AusDBF sweep, coach and official. Sharon has been heavily involved in the running of her club, as Coordinator and Public Officer, as well as sitting on the board of the sports crew as the pink representative.
After enjoying all the benefits and personal growth DAA has provided in her life, she is keen to share the passion, fun, experiences and adventures with the 20,000 men and women who are still being diagnosed with breast cancer every year. Dragon boating is such an incredible and unique vehicle to provide survivors with a pathway after treatment that is empowering, promotes physical and mental well being, and the most importantly, is fabulous fun.
As a small business owner for the last 20 years, Sharon brings a many and varied skill set to the board.
Sharon’s home club is DA Pinnacle Dragons. We paddle on Lake Canobolas in Orange, in the beautiful Central West of NSW, surrounded by vineyards and beautiful food.
